Abigail’s Mercy:- A male and female fronted dark melodic metal band hailing from the West Midlands home of Black Sabbath, Glenn Hughes, Judas Priest & er.... Cadbury's Chocolate.
Created by friends who just wanted to play the music they liked, Abigail's Mercy soon took on a life of its own and the band carried them in the direction that it wanted to go.
They still don't know where it’s taking them -but they do know that they are enjoying the journey.
Their debut album ‘Salvation’ was released on Casket Records in 2005 and enthusiastically received worldwide, being reviewed in Metal Hammer, Terrorizer (as well as Terroraiser Magazine in the Ukraine) and immediately becoming a ‘rated’ album with HMV and so making it available at several high street stores (Virgin, HMV, WH Smiths) as well as Amazon, Play.com and the other major internet outlets.
“Blending to perfection old goth standards with the modern trends, mixing male and female vocal parts to perfection. Imagine Sisters Of Mercy with Lacuna Coil, and listen.” Is how Casket Records described Abigail’s Mercy prior to the release of their debut album “Salvation”.

Two years on and the band have matured their sound and are changing record label too;
The band have played at the ‘Ink and Iron’ at Birmingham Academy –where they have been invited to return to play in 2008 at the centenary when it is to be held at Birmingham NEC. They headlined the recent ‘Dames of Darkness’ festival and after this year’s performance at ‘The Carnival of Souls’ where they were given some great reviews ‘Refreshingly different to the usual genre of bands’ they have again been invited back for a return visit.
Add to that the loads of airplay, their DVD of ‘To Hell With Angels’ winning them the ‘music video award at the Swansea International Film Festival and being voted no. 1 by the viewers of ‘Choon’ (Sky 195 music channel) the band have been keeping themselves very busy.
Amidst a rock scene of marauding invaders from
Scandinavia and Europe rides Abigail’s Mercy upon Boudicca’s chariot
to save British Metal with riffs that slice through the cortex like
the great ladies bladed wheels, and a blend of male and female
vocals to heal your wounds. Lets not mess about with comparisons to
other bands, there are no others in this genre of Dark Metal with
Lindsay’s voice going from Operatic Angel to down right dirty, and
Steve following both Good and Evil routes you will know that you are
listening to something special when backed by some outstanding
musicianship from John and Mark - two disciples' of Rock
Abigail’s Mercy were already considering offers from 2 other record companies for their follow up album when Pure Darkness Records approached them but with Pure Darkness’ own individual ethos for looking after their bands, there was no competition as far as AM were concerned.
Now signed to Pure Darkness and managed by
Stilettos , with their new album due out later this year, their journey continues…
